The Pakistani security forces were targeted in three separate attacks in Tigran, Kalat and Kolwa. Baloch armed groups have claimed responsibility for the attacks, claiming that at least 5 soldiers of the Pakistani forces were killed in the attacks while numerous others were wounded.

According to reports, an outpost of the Pakistani security forces was targeted by unknown assailants. Local sources said that the firing persisted for a long time before the attackers fled.

A convoy of Pakistani troops soon reached the area and cordoned it off.

The Baloch Liberation Army, a “pro-independence” armed group, claimed responsibility for the attack in a media statement. The group said that its fighters had attacked the outpost with heavy weapons, killing a soldier and wounding others. The group said that the outpost was destroyed in the attack.

The Pakistani forces were also targeted in a separate attack in Kalat where unknown assailants had hurled a hand grenade at the checkpoint before fleeing. The checkpoint had reportedly crumbed down and multiple soldiers were critically wounded in the attack.

The local sources say that the attackers were riding on a motorcycle. The security forces subsequently cordoned off the area.

The Baloch Liberation Army claimed responsibility for the attack, saying that its fighters had targeted not one but two checkpoints in Kalat. BLA said that the two checkpoints were destroyed in the attack and one soldier of the Pakistani forces was killed.

The Balochistan Liberation Front, another “pro-independence” armed group, issued a media statement on Wednesday, claiming that its fighters had strategically lured the Pakistani forces to the mountains in Kolwa and killed four commandoes.

The BLF claimed that the Pakistani forces are using unmanned drones equipped with chemical weapons to target the Baloch armed groups, a crime under international law. The group said that its leaders had decided to retaliate in kind.

BLF said that on October 17, a local agent of the Pakistani forces brought some essential items and left them in the mountains before taking cover behind the nearby boulders. The group said that after some time, the unmanned drone of Pakistani forces dropped multiple bombs at the spot where the essentials were kept. BLF said that helicopters of the Pakistani forces arrived at the spot and dropped off multiple commandoes.

BLF said that its fighters ambushed the Pakistani forces, killing four commandoes in the confrontation. The group said that its fighters managed to successfully escape with no casualties.
