The Baloch Liberation Army has released a video of two alleged Pakistani intelligence personnel recently detained in Bolan by the group. Surrounded by BLA fighters, the two detainees can be heard telling their families to protest and force the government to negotiate their release.
The video begins with the two detainees introducing themselves, calling their names and professions. They then go on to tell their family members to go out on the streets in protest and force the government to negotiate with the BLA for their release.
The two detainees say that they were identified and subsequently detained by BLA fighters. They say that two helicopters of Pakistani forces arrived for their rescue, but one of them was shot down by BLA fighters.
One of the detainees, Kaleemullah, entreats his father to ask his other brother to resign from the military and come back home.
It should be noted that a large number of civilians gathered in Punjab’s Pattoki, asking the government to negotiate the release of the two detainees.
BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch said that the group’s senior command had unanimously decided to negotiate the release of the two detainees in exchange for the release of Baloch political prisoners. He said that BLA is ready to sit down with Pakistani officials and negotiate a deal in the presence of international arbiters.
The Pakistani state has not responded to the offer yet.
