A tribal leader, Sardar Ahmed Khan Bangulzai’s convoy was targeted through an improvised explosive device (IED) in Mastung district of Balochistan on Sunday.
According to Levies sources, Chief of Bangulzai tribe, Sardar Ahmed Khan Bangulzai and Sardar Allah Yar Khan were going from the Splenji area to Johan when their convoy was targeted.
Two people were injured in the attack. However, the Sardar’s vehicle was badly damaged in the blast. Levies informed that the vehicle of tribal elders was targeted near the Sheikh Haji mountains in the Mastung district.
The injured people were rushed to the hospital for medical treatment. Levies personnel reached the spot as an investigation into the incident went underway. Initial, investigation suggests that the tribal elders were going from Dasht to Johan for a solution to a tribal dispute when targeted through an IED.
The responsibility of the attack has not been claimed by any group yet.
Whereas, in Kech district of Balochistan on Sunday, a check-post of the Frontier Corps (FC) was attacked by unknown armed men. The attack took place at the security forces’ post in Nasir-abad area.
According to reports, the forces suffered casualties in the attack, while the attackers managed to escape unhurt.
The position of the authorities regarding the attack and the damages has not been revealed yet. While a Baloch “pro-independence” group the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility of the attack on Monday.
Jeeyand Baloch, the spokesperson for the group said: “Freedom fighters of Baloch Liberation Army targeted a Pakistani military post in Nasir Abad, Turbat. In this attack, carried out with grenade launchers, the occupying forces suffered heavy losses.”
“BLA will continue to target Pakistani military until their full withdrawal from Baloch motherland,” the statement reads.
