Unidentified armed men attacked a check post of Pakistani forces on Monday in Quetta, the capital city of Balochistan. Operations are underway in the aftermath of the attack.
According to sources, the attack took place in the evening at a Pakistani check post near the Wali Tangi Dam, 20 kilometres east of Quetta. Two security personnel who got injured have been shifted to Quetta, according to military officials.
According to local sources, the exchange of fire continued for at least two hours hours, and explosions were also heard during that time.
Authorities confirmed that an operation was launched in the area following the incident. Helicopters were also reportedly spotted flying in the area.
While on Thursday, a Baloch “pro-independent” armed group named Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) claimed the responsibility for the attack on Pakistan military guest house located at famous tourist spot Wali Tangai dam in Quetta.
BLA claims five army personnel were killed in the attack. The group also released an image on its media channel, showing the building in flames.

BLA spokesman Jeeyand Baloch said in the statement: “At the time of attack, around ten enemy personnel were present inside the main hall of the rest house. In the heavy attack, five personnel including Subaidar Major Fazal Gul were killed and several others were injured.”
“BLA will continue to target occupying forces till the liberation of Baloch motherland,” Jeeyand Baloch stated.
