The Balochistan High Court (BHC) has ordered the termination of funds allocated for the salaries of parliamentarians’ private guards.
A bench of the BHC passed this order on the petition, on Tuesday. As per details, the advocate Syed Nazeer Agha had filed the petition seeking the order of the court to quash the fund of Rs. 100 million allocated for the payment of private guards reserved for political figures and parliamentarians.
An immediate halt was ordered by the court to the payment of the money through grants in aid from the government of Balochistan to private guards guarding parliamentarians and politicians.
The devision bench said, “the parliamentarians should hire guards from private companies on their own. None of them can keep more than two guards, the court directed the government.
The High Court further ordered the Balochistan government to spend the said money under grant aid for the welfare of the masses.
The court directed that the uniforms of the private guards should not be similar to the uniforms of the law enforcement forces. This is paramount to committing an offence, it said. The bench directed the government to make a mechanism with regard to hiring of guards from private companies in Balochistan.
