The Pakistani security forces reportedly raided a house in Toba area of district Washuk and “forcibly disappeared” two minor siblings. The forces also reportedly threatened the residents of the area to evacuate the area as soon as possible or await consequences.

According to reports, the Pakistani security forces raided the house of Laal Baksh in the Toba area of district Washuk and detained his two children – the ten-year-old Sanam Baloch and her six-year-old brother Gazzain Baloch.

Locals said that the security forces had threatened them to leave the area, without giving any justification for the warning. In Balochistan, the Pakistani forces have been repeatedly accused of arbitrarily displacing families and entire communities from their permanent homes.

Several families were reportedly uprooted from their homes in Awaran with nowhere to go. These families then found a residence in the Toba area of district Washuk, but the relief was short-lived: the security forces have reportedly hunted them down and threatened them once again to either leave the area or face severe consequences.

It is this unending cycle of evacuation and repopulation that has pushed thousands of families out of the borders of Balochistan and into the hostile neighbouring countries, like the Taliban-controlled Afghanistan and Iran, where they live a life of insecurity and uncertainty. Countless others have fled to Europe and the Americas in search of a better and safe life.
