Nasrullah Baloch, a resident of Nokjo in Nushki, has returned home after 12 years of “enforced disappearance”, but with severe amnesia – he is unable to recall any information about his past, his family or anything else.
The photo of the said detainee was uploaded on Twitter a few days in an attempt to search for his family. The uploader claimed that the man has no memory of his past, and, therefore, cannot remember his family or home. He also bore torture marks on his body.
The man had an uncanny resemblance to student leader Zakir Majeed who also went missing 12 years ago. Many reshared the post on social media, claiming that Zakir Majeed is back after the excruciatingly long separation. But the rumours were put to rest when Radia Zrumbesh reported that the man was Nasrullah Baloch, a resident of Mashkay.
Nasrullah’s brother saw the photos circulating on social media and recognized him, as he had a scar on his head.
Numerous others went missing in the past decade and have not been released yet. Earlier this year, a Baloch missing person was released after eight years of imprisonment. But the freedom was short-lived – Sameer Baloch, as he was identified later on, was once again picked up, allegedly by Pakistani security forces.
