Students from Uthal city of Lasbela district, on Wednesday blocked the motorway in protest, demanding school buses.
As per reports, hundreds of students blocked the main highway road in Uthal, which connects Balochistan to Sindh. The Students from rural areas demanded transport from government to go to their schools.
Numerous students from different schools of Uthal gathered on Wednesday morning to protest on the highway suspending the traffic.
Protestors said “we are not picked up by local passenger vehicles to go to school and we arrive late to our schools. They demanded the government to provide school buses immediately.
The students of Zeropoint, Pir Sawai Stop, Sheikh Stop, Gudurastop, Kalmati Stop and Angaria Stop protested together. They demanded from the government to provide them school buses as the local transporters trouble them and they have to walk to school several kilometres everyday.
The protest caused long queues of passenger buses and other vehicles on both sides of the highway and traffic was suspended for several hours.
It should be noted that most of the educational institutions in Lasbela district of Balochistan do not have transport facilities and students are facing severe problems.
