Baloch tribal elders from Kilkor area of Panjgur district held a press conference at the Turbat Press Club on Sunday.
In a press conference, a tribal elder named Rehmat Dawood told the media that Pakistani forces had brutally killed four of our innocent loved ones, and Pirjan was taken into custody by the forces and subjected to severe torture. He could not be sustained due to severe injuries, Mr Dawood added.
He further said that our lives are ruined by the law enforcement forces, our houses are set on fire.
“We are told that these forces are deployed to protect you, but they are killing us. Our cattle were shot dead during the operation. Five of our camels were also killed and our women are being desecrated”, Rehmat Dawood said. He further asked the authorities; “let us be explained, can these be the deeds of a protector?”
“We are not allowed to cultivate our lands,” Ghulam Nabi, another elder told the media at a press conference. Our crops have been destroyed, he said.
“Our women have been desecrated by raiding the houses of me and my neighbors. We appeal to the higher authorities to save us from the tyranny and barbarism of these unbridled forces,” he said.
A lady participant in the press conference, Banuk Jangul introducing a small child to the media said that this is five-year-old Mughal, whose father Daljan was killed during the operation.
She questioned that, who will bring justice to this orphaned child? Justice is not expected anywhere, we should be told our crime, what have we done to these forces, she asked.
Jangul concluded saying “I just want to say that we should be given the right to live on our land.”
It should be noted that extrajudicial killings and disappearances of Baloch youth by the “security forces” in Balochistan is a serious issue, which has been the subject of protests for a long time.
