Four friends were on their way to a picnic in the mountainous areas of tehsil Mand, district Kech, when they were “forcibly disappeared” by the Pakistani security forces.
The four missing persons have been identified as Hayataan, Qado, Sabir and Qaboos; all of them were residents of tehsil Mand. They were “forcibly disappeared”, allegedly by the Pakistani security forces, when they were on their way to a picnic in the mountains of Mand. They were moved to an unknown location and their condition remains unknown.
It should be mentioned that the Pakistani security forces had announced in a mosque in tehsil Mand, warning the locals that anyone who ventures near the mountains will be responsible for themselves.
The locals say that they cannot remain confined to their houses. Many families depend on the mountains for their bread and butter – they chop down trees and sell them in the market to provide for their families. Under the new restrictions, they say, we will starve to death.
The security forces have not yet commented on the situation.
