Mohammed Tahir Rai has been appointed as new Inspector General of Balochistan police.
According to reports, Federal government has appointed a senior police officer M. Tahir Rai to replace Mohsin Hasan Butt, who served as the IG police in Balochistan for almost 3 years.
M. Tahir Rai has worked as chief of the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), in Punjab province of Pakistan, for six years.
His appointment reportedly comes in view of the recent terrorist incident in the Mach coal field in Balochistan, a couple of weeks back. Where 11 Hazara coal miners were killed by the so called IS.
