In two separate road accidents, 4 persons were killed and 8 others were injured in Balochistan’s Pashin and Khuzdar districts.
According to details, three people, including a woman, were killed and seven others injured in a horrific traffic accident in Pishin district of Balochistan. The bodies of the deceased and the injured have been shifted to a nearest hospital.
According to Levies sources, a horrific collision took place between a passenger wagon and a vehicle near Yaro area of Pishin on Saturday, due to which Daulath Bibi, wife of Najeeb ullah, Abdul Rauf Kakar of Killi Machan Pishin, Mohammad Yusuf son of Haji Abdul Rauf Kakar of Toba Kakri Pishin, Mohammad Omar son of Fazal Mohammad Durrani of Amirabad Pishin died on the spot.
Abdul Rasool son of Faraz Ahmad Sulaiman Khel resident of Nawa Killi Quetta, Mahmood Khan son of Sardar Sulaiman Khel resident of Nawa Killi Quetta, Sardar Wali son of Ata Muhammad Kakar resident of Quetta and Zahir Khan were injured and were rushed to hospital by ambulances.
According to sources, the accident took place due to high speed, however, further investigations are being carried out in this regard.
Meanwhile, a person lost his life and another one received injuries in an another road accident in Khuzdar district.
Ghulam Haider son of Ali Mohammad resident of Sorab died on the spot while Bashir Ahmed son of Shafi Mohammad resident of Sorab was injured in the accident took place on M8 Road at Karkh area of Khuzdar.
Karkh Levies Forces personnel was immediately rushed to the Karkh Hospital by ambulance. Sources reported that the accident took place due to the high speed. The occupants of the car were coming from Shahdadkot.
“Increasing number of deaths in highway accidents are becoming a norm in Balochistan,” read a study released by Balochistan Youth and Civil Society, a non-governmental group striving for extension of highways to reduce the growing number of accidents in Balochistan.
The Balochistan Youth and Civil Society (BYCS) also organised a rally in March this year in Winder city against the increasing road accidents on the Karachi-Quetta-Chaman highway.
They said there had been several claims about development under CPEC and Gwadar but that no practical measures are being taken to facilitate the people of Balochistan.
