The united opposition launched a protest in Quetta against the provincial government’s negligence in the budget.
According to The Balochistan Post news desk, the united opposition – a consortium of political parties in opposition in the Balochistan assembly, including Balochistan National Party (BNP), JUI-F, PMAP and others – launched a protest in Quetta on Wednesday.
The opposition had organized the protests against their alleged exclusion in the budget formation and the arrest of their leaders.
According to the sources, the protestors were marching towards the Chief Minister house when they were stopped by the security forces, resulting in a diatribe between the BNP leader, Naseer Shahwani and the forces.
The arrest of BNP politicians resulted in city-wide protests. The protestors blocked various highways and roads in Saryab road custom, Kechi Baig, Burma Hotel and few other areas.
On this occasion, the opposition leader, Malik Sikandar said that the opposition is constantly contacting the government but the government’s indifference is pitiful. He said that the opposition must be taken into confidence in the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) and all the development funds must be equally distributed.
He further said that the united opposition has resolved to struggle for its legal and constitutional rights.
