Five persons were arrested and taken to undisclosed locations after Pakistani forces raided a locality in Dasht, Balochistan.
According to local TBP correspondent, in another incident of enforced disappearances, five persons including three brothers were ‘abducted’ by Pakistani security forces. The arrests were made after Pakistani forces raided Bahot Chath area of Dasht, Makuran.
The three brothers have been identified as Akhtar, Umait and Khaleel. Whereas, the other two persons have been identified as Rashid s/o Ibrahim and Akram s/o Saeed.
It was not clear why these arrests were made.
The term abducted is often used in Balochistan for the arrests made during military actions as the arrested persons are not produced before the court of law but kept at undisclosed locations for years without any trials.
International campaign groups including Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International also accuse Pakistani security forces as the perpetrators of ‘illegal abductions in Balochistan’.
