Women and children blocked the road at Saryab on Monday against the load-shedding of gas and electricity
According to the details received by the Balochistan Post, women from Gunjan Abad and Kili Chiltan areas of the capital city Quetta came out on the roads to protest over the cutting of water supply and long-lasting load shedding of gas and electricity.
Protestors blocked the main road at Saryab on Monday.
Talking with the TBP correspondent, a woman among the protestors said that women in Baloch society usually do not come out like this but they were forced to come out and protest because their lives have turned miserable due to the absence of basic facilities of water, gas and electricity.
Protestors were chanting slogans against representatives who recently won elections in these constituencies.
Before dispersing, protestors warned that if their needs are not met, they will protest in front of CM house the next time.
Quetta is facing severe drought in the recent years as the rainfall has fallen down to critical level. Gas and electricity are only available in the main city, whereas, surrounding areas of Quetta are deprived of basic facilities.
According to the analysts, the new government has shown no improvement in their first couple of months despite their commitments to the people of Quetta.
