Two missing persons, abducted from Kalat and Panjgur were released today almost after a year
According to the details received by the Balochistan Post, two previously missing persons, allegedly abducted by Pakistani forces, surfaced today in Kalat and Panjgur districts.
Ali Ahmed S/O Mir Taimur Nichari was abducted from Kalat city eight months ago, was released today and has reached at his home in Mungchar town.
Whereas, Fazal S/O Jumma was abducted on 24th of December in 2017, has reached at his home today in Chitkan town of Panjgur district.
The term abducted is widely used in Balochistan to connote arrests made by security forces as the arrested are not presented before the court of law and instead kept in military camps.
Enforced disappearances that started in the early 2000s have never slowed down in Balochistan, in fact, dramatic surge has been observed in the number of people going missing with each coming year.
International campaign groups including Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International accuse Pakistani security forces as the culprits of these illegal abductions.
