Kharan: Two armed men have been killed in a clash between security forces and armed persons, while another has been arrested in a military operation in Kharan.

According to the details received by The Balochistan Post (TBP), armed men and personnel of Pakistani forces clashed in Toh Mulk road, Kharan on Friday.

At least two armed persons were killed, who were later identified as Abdul Bari and Shukrullah.

Six Pakistani personnel also suffered injuries, who were taken to DHQ hospital, Kharan. There were also unconfirmed reports of deaths of the personnel, however, this could not be verified.

The armed men killed in the clashes reportedly belong to a ‘pro-freedom’ group.

In another news, Pakistani forces, accompanied by personnel of Intelligence Agencies, raided a house in Qilla Muhalla of Kharan city and arrested Haji Ubaidullah s/o Haji Barkat Tagapi, who was later shifted to an undisclosed location.

Locals accuse Pakistani forces of disappearing several men during raids in Lijje, Toskan, Tazina and Al murk towns of Kharan.

Moreover, Amant Hasrat, a Kharan based journalist, returned home after months of disappearance. He was arrested and disappeared by Pakistani forces on 27 March 2018.

International campaign groups including Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International accuse Pakistani security forces as the culprits of ‘illegal abductions of civilians’.
