Five cases of alleged enforced disappearance have been reported in Balochistan, while a young man reportedly died shortly after being released from the custody of Pakistani forces in a severely injured condition.
In the Dasht area of Kech, Pakistani forces allegedly raided homes in Miksar, subjected residents to violence and took away valuables. During the raid, Dad Shah, 30, son of Karim, was allegedly taken into custody and forcibly disappeared. His home was also reportedly set on fire.
Four cases of alleged enforced disappearance were reported from Quetta. Javad Shad, 28, son of Dilshad, a student, was allegedly taken from A-One City on Brewery Road on September 20. Shaukat, 20, son of Muhammad Noor, a labourer, was allegedly detained in Sariab on August 3. Siam Baloch, 20, son of Abdul Salam, was allegedly taken from his home in Kachi Baig on September 26, while Ghulam Haider, 26, son of Jumma Khan, a shopkeeper, was allegedly taken from his home on Eastern Bypass on March 12.
The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and Military Intelligence (MI) were allegedly involved in Javad Shad’s disappearance, the CTD and Frontier Corps (FC) in Shaukat’s case, and the CTD in the disappearances of Siam Baloch and Ghulam Haider.
Meanwhile, Hafeez Baloch, son of Rahmdil, reportedly died after being released from the custody of Pakistani forces in critical condition in the Buleda area of Kech. His family members said he was taken from his home on the night of September 16, 2026, and forcibly disappeared. They said he was handed over to them in a severely injured condition on the night of September 22 and died from his injuries approximately an hour later.
Similar cases have previously been reported in Balochistan. In June 2025, Shahzaib Ahmed, a resident of Quetta, reportedly died within hours of being taken to hospital following his release.

In July this year, Riaz Bugti, a resident of Dera Bugti, died in a Karachi hospital after his release from detention. His family said CTD personnel had taken him during a raid on his home on June 12 and alleged that he was severely tortured in custody.
Families of missing persons and human rights groups have repeatedly accused Pakistani forces of enforced disappearances, custodial torture and extrajudicial killings in Balochistan.
The Baloch Yakjehti Committee’s (BYC) Human Rights Department said it documented 507 alleged enforced disappearances in its report covering the first six months of 2026, with Quetta and Kech recording the highest numbers. It said 303 people remained missing and alleged that 32 victims of enforced disappearance had been killed in custody and their bodies dumped.
