The “pro-independence” Baloch armed group United Baloch Army (UBA) has claimed responsibility for a sniper attack targeting Pakistani military personnel in the Bolan area of Balochistan.
In a statement issued to the media, UBA spokesperson Mazar Baloch said the group’s specialised sniper unit targeted Pakistani military personnel with a long-range rifle at around 2:40pm near the Pir Elahi Yar Shah shrine.
According to the statement, two Pakistani military personnel were killed in the attack. It said the personnel had gathered at the location while preparing for a military operation in the area.
The UBA claimed responsibility for the attack and stated that it would continue similar operations until its stated objective of an independent Balochistan was achieved.
There was no immediate comment from Pakistani authorities regarding the reported incident.
