A woman from Balochistan’s Khuzdar has appealed for justice, alleging that an associate of former Balochistan chief minister Sanaullah Zehri killed one of her sons, left another disabled and later occupied her family’s land.
Speaking at a press conference at the Quetta Press Club, the woman accused Abdul Malik, also known as Malo, of attacking her family and taking control of her property in Zehri. She alleged that Abdul Malik acted under the patronage of Sanaullah Zehri and serves as his deputy.
According to her statement, she was forced to leave the area after the attacks on her children. She also alleged that her houses had been occupied and accused the district administration and police of failing to provide justice because of what she described as Zehri’s influence.
The woman called on the Government of Balochistan to investigate the matter and take action against Abdul Malik and his associates.
The allegations come amid an ongoing military-imposed curfew in Zehri, Khuzdar district, where rights activists have reported severe restrictions on civilian movement and access to basic services.
Dr Sabiha Baloch, a central leader of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee, said the curfew had transformed civilian life into a state of “fear, punishment, and deprivation”, with entire areas sealed and residents forced to walk long distances within restricted hours to obtain food and essential supplies.
She said schools and hospitals had remained closed for ten consecutive days, depriving children of education and leaving patients without access to treatment, medicines or emergency services.
Dr Sabiha also alleged that civilians travelling through checkpoints were being subjected to “humiliation, harassment, and degrading treatment”, while daily wage workers, labourers and small traders had been unable to earn a livelihood.
“What is unfolding in Zehri is collective punishment against an entire civilian population,” she said, calling for the restrictions to end immediately and for those responsible for alleged abuses to be held accountable.
