A young lawyer, identified as Hakeem Baloch, has reportedly been subjected to enforced disappearance from Quetta, the capital of Balochistan, allegedly by Pakistani security forces.
According to sources close to the family, Hakeem Baloch recently completed his LLB degree from Bahawalpur, Punjab, and had only recently begun practising law in Balochistan.
His disappearance has sparked concern among civil society groups, human rights organisations, and the legal community. They have voiced alarm over what they describe as a continuing pattern of enforced disappearances in Balochistan.
Calls are being made for the immediate and safe recovery of Hakeem Baloch. No official statement has been issued regarding his whereabouts or the reasons for his reported detention.
