Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) leader Sammi Deen Baloch has publicly challenged Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti to provide evidence for his claim that she burned the Pakistani flag, calling the allegation a “baseless attempt to discredit a peaceful movement.”

In a recent television interview, Sarfraz Bugti alleged that BYC leaders were “anti-Pakistan” and claimed there existed a video showing Sammi Deen Baloch burning the Pakistani national flag.

Responding to the accusation, Ms Baloch issued a strong rebuttal and challenged the Chief Minister to present the alleged video.

“I openly challenge Sarfraz Bugti to present this video to the nation,” she said. “Tell us when, where, and on what occasion I committed such an act. If he can prove his claim, I will surrender myself to the law. But if he fails—which he will—then he must resign immediately.”

Ms Baloch said such accusations were part of a long-running pattern to discredit peaceful protest movements in Balochistan through “media propaganda and lies.”

“Not a single allegation against us has ever been proven,” she added.

She also called on the judiciary to take notice of the Chief Minister’s remarks, urging legal action over what she described as a “false, defamatory and misleading” statement.

“If people can be picked up or arrested based on baseless accusations,” she said, “then the law should be applied equally to everyone.”
