A convoy of Pakistani security forces was attacked in the Ispelanji area of Balochistan’s Mastung district on Wednesday.
The convoy was reportedly targeted with an improvised explosive device (IED), followed by rocket fire and sustained gunfire. Local sources reported hearing multiple explosions and heavy gunfire after the initial blast.
Local sources said the attack caused losses to Pakistani forces, but no official statement has been released regarding casualties or the extent of the damage.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far. However, the region has seen frequent attacks on Pakistani forces by Baloch ‘pro-independence’ armed groups in the past.
