Pakistani forces reportedly seized the vehicles of 36 Baloch drivers and left them stranded in the Chagai desert amid extreme heat on Thursday.

Local sources reported that the incident took place in the Chilgami area of Chagai. The drivers were left without aid or support in scorching temperatures.

Images and videos circulating on social media show the drivers in severe distress, wandering near Reko Diq. They are reportedly suffering from severe dehydration and sunstroke.

Fears of potential fatalities are rising, with reports indicating that at least one driver has died from the extreme conditions.

This incident is part of a broader pattern of alleged abuses by Pakistani forces. On May 23, Pakistani forces allegedly poured sand into the engines of two local individuals’ vehicles and forced them to stand barefoot on the hot sand, causing severe burns.

In April 2022, Pakistani Army personnel reportedly sabotaged approximately 200 vehicles by pouring sand into their radiators and removing their batteries. The drivers were then abandoned in a desolate border area, leading to several deaths from thirst.
