Pakistani forces reportedly raided the house of Minhaj Mukhtar, a prominent Baloch revolutionary singer, in the Kech district of Balochistan on Wednesday.
According to details, the raid occurred on Wednesday night at 1:00 am in the Tump Konshkalat area. Local sources stated that during the raid, the forces severely tortured the singer’s father and other family members. As usual, The forces allegedly ransacked the house and took away valuables, including mobile phones and goats.
It should be noted that Minhaj Mukhtar is a revolutionary singer who has released many albums. He has been reportedly often under reproach from the State forces because of his revolutionary songs. His family faces continuous harassment; their house has been repeatedly fired upon, raided, and looted, the family sources reported
It is pertinent to mention that not only singers but also the families of the activists face such incidents due to their activisim of their family members. In 2018, the house of renowned activist Karima Baloch was attacked by mortar shells. Subsequently, her home was raided, and family members were brutally tortured.
Moreover, in 2021, the house of Baloch journalist Safar Khan Baloch was attacked by an armed militia allegedly backed by the State. The attackers reportedly harassed the women and children. In the same year, Pakistani troops allegedly attacked the house of Khalil Baloch, the spokesperson for the Baloch National Movement (BNM), in the Panjgur district of Balochistan.
