For over two decades, the specter of enforced disappearances has cast a long, dark shadow across Balochistan. The region has been marred by the disappearance of numerous individuals, a situation that has drawn the ire of Baloch nationalists, activists, and human rights groups. These entities have repeatedly pointed fingers at Pakistani intelligence and security forces, accusing them of orchestrating these abductions and extrajudicial killings. The Pakistani government has staunchly refuted these allegations, but the evidence amassed by advocacy groups tells a compelling and contrasting narrative.

The Balochistan Post (TBP) has conducted a thorough investigation into the incidents of enforced disappearances for the month of April 2024.

Key Findings:

In April 2024, TBP recorded a total of 28 enforced disappearances across Balochistan and other regions of Pakistan.
Of those who had vanished, 9 individuals were fortunately released and returned to their families.
Tragically, 4 bodies were recovered, identified as individuals who had previously been reported missing.
