Three young men have reportedly disappeared after being detained by Pakistani forces in the Kech district of Balochistan, while one missing person has been released.
In Turbat, the central city of the Kech district, Qambar s/o Tahir from the Parom area of Panjgur was reportedly detained from a relative’s residence in the Meeri Kalat area on February 2nd. His family has since reported him missing, alleging that he has been subjected to enforced disappearance.
Similarly, in the Tump tehsil of Kech district, Ali Jan s/o Moosa and Waheed s/o of Rasheed are also missing after allegedly being detained by security forces during a late-night raid in the Dazin area on Thursday.
In a contrasting development, the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) has announced the return of Amir Alizai, a TikToker and student, who was allegedly forcibly disappeared by Pakistani forces on February 2nd from Mastung.
The series of disappearances and a recent release highlight a troubling pattern of enforced disappearances in Balochistan, where the release of one individual often coincides with the forced disappearance of many others in the same timeframe.
