Nadia Baloch, the sister of Shah Fahad, a resident of Kharan missing since March 16, 2022, has called for increased public participation in the ongoing Long March protesting “enforced disappearances” and “fake encounters” in Balochistan.

Speaking at the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) camp in Quetta, Nadia shed light on the plight of her brother, alleging he was forcibly disappeared by Pakistani forces and has not been seen since.

Nadia also shared her family’s previous ordeal, which mirrors Shah Fahad’s situation. She referred to her elder brother, Ghulam Fareed, who, according to her account, was also taken into custody by the same forces and remained missing for three years.

In her appeal, Nadia Baloch asked the residents of Kharan and the other areas of Balochistan to support the Long March, which aims for the safe recovery of Baloch missing persons. She emphasized the need to strengthen the voices of families affected by these incidents, underscoring the urgency to address the issues of forced disappearances and “fake encounters” in the region.
