Balochistan, a region marred by the haunting specter of enforced disappearances, continues to grapple with this distressing reality that has plagued its people for the past two decades. Baloch nationalists, activists, and human rights organizations have consistently pointed fingers at Pakistani intelligence agencies and security forces, alleging their involvement in abductions and extrajudicial killings. Despite the vehement denial of any complicity by the Pakistani government, mounting evidence presented by these groups paints a different picture.
An investigation conducted The Balochistan Post (TBP) delved into the state of enforced disappearances during the latter two weeks of July, uncovering the following:
Revealing the Truth
During this critical period, TBP meticulously documented a series of cases of enforced disappearances that were reported from various regions across Balochistan. The gathered accounts shed light on the severity of the situation, with a troubling total of 34 individuals vanishing under suspicious circumstances, allegedly at the hand of Pakistani security forces. However, amidst this disheartening backdrop, there were glimmers of hope as eight of the disappeared individuals miraculously found their way back to the safety of their homes, leaving behind a ray of relief in their wake.
Tragic Discoveries
Unfortunately, the search for the missing persons did not culminate in joyful reunions for everyone. Within these harrowing two weeks, four lifeless bodies were discovered, further deepening the anguish and despair in Balochistan.
These revelations serve as a continuation of our earlier report, which encompassed the preceding two weeks of July 2023. The persistence of enforced disappearances, combined with the consistent denial of involvement by the Pakistani government, demands heightened attention from international bodies. The urgent need for a comprehensive resolution to address this ongoing human rights crisis cannot be overstated.
As the people of Balochistan endure the anguish and uncertainty brought about by these disappearances, the world watches with bated breath, hoping for a brighter and more just future for the region.

- Kech: 7
- Awaran: 6
- Gwadar: 4
- Quetta: 2
- Islamabad: 2
- Karachi: 2
Additionally, four dead bodies were discovered from the following areas:
- Gwadar: 1
- Mashkel: 1
- Kech: 1
- Panjgur: 1
