The residents staged a protest against the continuous power outage in the Tump area of district Kech on Friday.

According to reports, a large number of people, including women and children, blocked the highway near Tump and raised slogans against the outage of electricity, and criticized local politicians and authorities.

Residents say that electricity has been cut off in the area for more than a week — daily life has been paralyzed due to extreme heat, while water supply to the residents has also been suspended due to the lack of electricity.

The protesters said that for a week, they have been trying to contact the public representatives and administration of Tump, Kech to resolve the issues.
The protesters criticized elected ministers from the area such as Zubaida Jalal and others by saying that at the time of elections, they (politicians) come out of Islamabad to ask for votes, but when the residents here are deprived of electricity and other basic necessities of life in the scorching heat, then these public representatives are missing from the scene.

The protesters said that the electricity has been cut off for the last several days. “We contacted the CASCO authorities, but we did not get any response.”

The protesters further said that the citizens of Tump are fed up and have come out on the streets to protest until the administration listens to them. They said that they will sit on the roads until the electricity is restored in the area.
