The latest report published on December 09 by Amnesty International revealed more details and information about the children killed by the Iranian regime.

According to Amnesty International’s report, children represent 14% of the overall deaths of protesters and bystanders recorded, which exceeds 300 since the protests erupted.

The constitutions of Amnesty International and other human rights organizations refer to all persons or adolescents under the age of 18 as ‘children’. By collecting information and verifying the data obtained, Amnesty International has been able to confirm the names and details of 39 boys and five girls killed during countrywide protests in Iran.

The report said that the youngest child killed in the firing of Iranian forces was two years old. The report shows that at least four of the children killed were shot from close range. Five children, including four girls and a boy, died from injuries consistent with fatal beatings by Iranian forces. The recorded child victims include 39 boys, aged between two and 17, and five girls, three of whom were 16 years old, one 17 years old, and one aged six, the report reads.

Amnesty report said there are numerous examples that show that Iranian authorities for covering up their crimes of child killings are coercing victim families into silence. Amnesty International has identified such practices against the relatives of at least 13 child victims. According to Amnesty International’s findings, over 60 percent of the children killed by Iranian forces during the nationwide protests were from Iran’s oppressed Baloch and Kurd minorities. “These communities have long suffered from systemic discrimination and persecution by the authorities,” Amnesty International said.
