Pakistani security forces have arrested dozens of Baloch during a military operation in district Awaran.
According to details obtained by The Balochistan Post, scores of Baloch were taken away when personnel of Pakistani Army raided a mosque during Friday prayers in Dandar.
The arrested include Sawal Jan s/o Jumma, Hamid s/o Lal Mohammad, Sadiq s/o Bashir, Mohammad Imdad s/o Raheem Baksh, Illyas s/o Faqeer Mohammad, Bilal s/o Mohammad Hassan, Iltaf s/o Lal Bakhsh, Niaz s/o Wali Mohammad, Lal Bakhsh s/o Kareem Dad, Javed s/o Abdul Qadir and two brothers Mohabbat and Shabbir who are sons of Pullan. The identities of other abducted people have not been ascertained yet.
Security forces also conducted house to house search operations. Locals have claimed that personnel violated sanctity of houses and maltreated women and children.
The military offensive started early this morning when a huge convoy of Pakistani military was seen travelling towards Dandar near Kolwah. Eight gunship helicopters and a surveillance drone were also spotted.
According to some reports, security forces have converted a school in Madag Kalat into a makeshift military camp. Locals believe the school is being used as base camp for the operation.
