Students of Lasbela University of Agriculture Water and Marine Sciences (LUAWMS) on Tuesday held a demonstration against the forceful abduction of their fellow Zahoor Rasheed, in Uthal city of Balochistan’s Lasbela district.

According to details, a large number of male and female students chanted slogans and held placards in front of University Administration for the safe recovery of Zahoor Rasheed. Addressing the protest, students said that Zahoor is a student of 1st Semester in LUAWMS who was forcefully detained from his home in Hub Chowki city, by the security forces on May 7, 2022, who still remains missing.

They said that serious political action is needed on the deteriorating situation in Balochistan. Students are being beaten on the streets and are forced to protest in front of press clubs. While, in such situation, the government’s stubbornness is unforgettable, students said.

They further said that the forceful abduction of Baloch students is unacceptable, Rasheed Baloch’s appearance must be brought to light.

Protestors have also appealed to the Humanitarian groups to play their role against the enforced disappearances, and save Balochistan from humanitarian crises.

Meanwhile, Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) protest camp has completed its 4645th day of protest in-front of Quetta press club on Tuesday.

On this occasion, the joint secretary of BSO, Atif Baloch and the president of Pakistani Youth Movement, Mohammad Aslam Bazai and others visited the camp to express solidarity with the families of missing persons.

On this moment, Mama Qadeer Baloch, vice chairman of the VBMP said that human rights violations and tragedies in Balochistan are intensifying with each passing day. “The issue of non-recovery of forcibly disappeared Balochs has become very critical. The crime of these forcibly disappeared, is that they speak up for their rights in a peacefull way.

It is pertinent to mention that, thousands of Baloch ethnic persons are reported missing, human rights groups and the families of victims accuse Pakistani security forces and intelligence agencies for these abductions.
