The Institute of Balochi Language and Culture University of Turbat held a seminar on the importance of transliteration and translation in Balochi literature and language on Friday. The institute of Balochi language of the Turbat University is among the few institutions working on the development of Balochi language and literature.

According to details, the seminar was held on Friday and consisted of two separate sessions. The chair of the Department of Balochi Language, Professor Abdul Saboor Baloch, delivered the welcome speech. He said that the Balochi department of the Turbat University functions on scientific principles.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Jan Muhammad Baloch and Mehboob Bugti from the institution of the development of the national language in Islamabad were also in the attendance.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Jan Muhammad Baloch said that translation is an art that provides access to the most esoteric aspects of literature and increases the collective knowledge of a nation. He said that a true nation not only preserves its cultural and linguistic legacy but also actively takes steps to promote it.

Mehboob Bugti lauded the efforts of the university organzing the seminar and said that book translations give us an access window to the literature and culture of other nations around the world.

More than forty prominent academics in the university also addressed the gathering and presented samples of their work, including translations, essays and poetry.

A large number of students, teachers, professors and lecturers and journalists also participated in the seminar.
