Scores of people on Monday took to the streets in Buleda to protest against the targeted killing of two civilians, Yasir Zafar and Ismail Ibrahim, who had been killed in the interval of few days.
Yasir Zafar, a local studying in Karachi who had returned to his hometown to celebrate Eid with his family, was shot dead by unknown assailants on May 10 in Buleda. The culprits fled the scene and have not been arrested yet. Ismail Ibrahim was also a resident of Buleda who was gunned down in the town a few days ago.
Addressing the protestors, the speakers said that the government must ensure peace and security in Buleda. They said that the authorities must investigate the two killings and apprehend the murderers. Until then, they said, we consider the provincial government responsible. It should be mentioned the incumbent finance minister of Balochistan, Zahoor Buledi, hails from Buleda.
Zafar’s family has been targeted in the past – one of his relatives was abducted along with his young son. They were killed and their dead bodies were thrown in a well.
