A state-sponsored ‘death squad’ has allegedly detained six persons from the Turbat, Kech, and relocated them to an undisclosed location.

According to the details, Razai s/o Dilbo, Khuda Dad s/o Bazed, Muhammad Jan, Gohram, Sher Jan s/o Gohram and Aazim s/o Khalid Dad were detained by an armed group on gunpoint from Aaskani area of Turbat.

According to the local sources, the perpetrators belong to the Mirza tribe, who many accuse of working as a ‘death squad’ under the patronage of the Pakistani forces.

It is pertinent to mention that such armed groups are notorious in Kech and its vicinities for drug trafficking, ransom kidnapping, robbery and enforced disappearances.

The nationalist and pro-independence organizations claim that such ‘death squads’ are formulated by the Pakistani forces to do its bidding in Balochistan. They say that these groups attempt to spy on and occlude Baloch nationalists on Pakistan Army’s behest.
