In a confrontation with the drug smugglers, 2 Pakistani forces’ personnel were killed and 6 were severely wounded in the eastern region of Balochistan, Mashkel.

According to the details, the confrontation took place in the vicinity of Mashkel and resulted in heavy losses to the Pakistani forces. The wounded were shifted to the camp hospital by the Anti-Narcotic Forces for first aid and treatment.

It is pertinent to mention that Mashkel is a hothouse for drug dealing; it is used as a transit route for drug trafficking from Afghanistan to the rest of Balochistan. The Frontier Corps allegedly facilitates drug trafficking by providing a fluid path for the movement of convoys.

A resident of Naukundi told The Balochistan Post that the FC personnel block the Taftan highway in the midnight to provide an easy transit route into Iran and Mashkel in exchange for a handsome price.
