Carlos Latuff, a Brazilian artist, has called on Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan and Pakistani President Arif Ali to rescue the forcefully disappeared Hassan Qambrani and Hezbollah Qambrani from Quetta.

According to details, Brazilian artist Carlos Latuff released a cartoon sketch on Twitter demanding the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan, the Government of Pakistan and the President of Pakistan Arif Alvi, to provide information on the whereabouts of Hasiba Qambrani’s brother, Hassan Qambrani, and her cousin Hizbullah Qambrani.

He demanded in his tweet from Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, saying “Could you please provide information on the status and whereabouts of brothers Hizbullah and Hassan Qambrani, both abducted by #Pakistan forces on February 14 in the #Balochistan region? Their family is suffering just as much.”

The cartoon released by Carlos Latuff shows Hasiba Qambrani holding pictures of her brother Hassan Qambrani and cousin Hezbullah Qambrani, in which the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan is silently looking at her with folded hands, and Hasiba is crying and questioning him. “Where are they, Mr. Khan?”

Carlos Latuff, a 51-year-old Brazilian artist, is a political cartoonist whose work deals with an array of themes, including anti-Zionism, anti-globalization, anti-capitalism, and opposition to U.S. military intervention. He is best known for his images depicting the Israeli–Palestinian conflict and the Arab Spring events. Some of Latuff’s cartoons comparing Israel to Nazism have been accused of being antisemitic by the Simon Wiesenthal Center and some authors, especially his cartoons relating to the Holocaust. Latuff has dismissed the charges of antisemitism as “a strategy for discrediting criticism of Israel.” This is the first time that Carlos has made the issue of missing persons in Balochistan the subject of his cartoons.

It should be noted that on March 8, a video of Hizbullah Qambrani and Hassan Qambrani’s sister went viral on social media, in which she was crying and demanding the recovery of her brothers. The video has been viewed by millions around the world, including Pakistan.

Hasiba Qambrani’s brother Hassan Qambrani and cousin Hizbullah Qambrani were reported missing after being arrested allegedly by Pakistani intelligence agencies in Quetta on February 14, 2020. Earlier, Hasiba’s brother Gazain and cousin Salman Qambrani were also forcefully disappeared, whose mutilated bodies were recovered in 2015.
