Students of Medical University in Quetta, the capital of Balochistan, once again staged a sit-in protest in front of the Governor’s House.

It is to be noted that two days ago, the students were expelled from the university hostel, against which the victims protested in front of Balochistan Assembly overnight, but later protests were canceled on the assurance of political parties and the administration.

The political, social and student organizations have condemned the decision of University administration. A campaign was launched against the Deputy Commissioner Quetta on social media yesterday.

The Baloch Doctors Forum issued a statement stating that the university administration does not appear to be serious in resolving the issue of the Girls hostel at Bolan University of Medical and Health Sciences. Despite the explicit orders of Deputy Commissioner Quetta and Health Secretary, the University administration is denying to allot hostels to students and students are again forced to protest before the Governor’s House and demand justice.

Advocate Jalila Haider, President of the Women’s Democratic Front Balochistan (WDFB) and other district and provincial members said in a joint statement that the harassment of ‘lady house officers’ by the Bolan Medical University admin and the government officials of Balochistan is strongly condemned.

The Chairman of BSO Pajjar, a student organization has said that last night students were brought to the streets by the local and University administration forcefully. It is against Baloch and Pashtun traditions. But here in a dark night, the students were expelled from the hostels, which no civilized society would allow.

He said that government’s decree did not spare any effort to humiliate the students, which the BSO Pajjar strongly condemns.

BSO-Azad has also condemned the act saying that the Baloch and Pashtun students are forcefully being pushed away from education and such acts are disturbing students mentally and wasting their time.
