Pakistani armed forces have whisked away two including a 65-year-old man from different areas of Balochistan.
According to details received by The Balochistan Post, early on Wednesday morning a 65-year-old man was detained by Pakistani security forces after a raid in a locality of Awaran district.
The man, who was later taken to unknown location, was identified as Jan Mahmmad s/o Pindag. He is a resident of Bazdad in Awaran.
In another raid in Kech, Pakistani security forces ‘abducted’ a man from a house in Aashal, Kolwah. The detainee was identified as Azum s/o Dad Mahmmad.
The term abducted is widely used in Balochistan to connote arrests made by security forces as the arrested are not presented before court of law and instead kept in military camps.
Enforced disappearances that started in early 2000s have never slowed down in Balochistan, in fact dramatic surge has been observed in number of people going missing with each coming year.
International campaign groups including Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International accuse Pakistani security forces as the culprits of these illegal abductions.
