Baloch National Movement’s Chairman Khalil Baloch has strongly condemned rape of Baloch women by Pakistani Army personnel in Rakshan, Naag area of district Washuk.

In a press release sent to The Balochistan Post, the chairman of Balochistan’s largest pro-independence mass organisation, has said that the women in Rakshan were forcibly shifted to an army camp, where they were sexually assaulted and tortured by military men, which resulted in miscarriage of at least one pregnant woman.

The chairman of BNM in the response of this ‘sickening incident’ said, “the silence of the human rights organisations regarding this grave incident of women being abused by Pakistani security forces is a slap on the face of humanity.”

He added, “the state of Pakistan and its army are involved in violation of human rights in Balochistan; there is a constant rise in the genocide of Baloch nation, and Pakistan is considering the silence of the world as grant of impunity to continue its barbarity without any accountability.”

Commenting on protest by families of Baloch missing persons on muslim religious festival of Eid, Khalil Baloch said, “for several years the families of the missing Baloch persons are compelled to protest and demonstrate even on the occasion of Eid; they have spent many Eids in front of the press clubs protesting for the safe release of their loved ones. However, the world bodies are indifferent and don’t show a scintilla of interest towards their agonies.” He added, “We believe, the silence of the world on Pakistani barbarities in Balochistan, will be remembered as a very dark chapter in the history.”

He said that the incident of molestation of women and torturing them in army camp has gone unreported in the media.

BNM chairman added: ‘there is complete media blackout in Balochistan therefore it has become a black hole, where the act of barbarities by Pakistan army, and the wailing and crying of those suppressed and persecuted people are buried beneath the earth, but history would record all these cruelties, Pakistan and its puppet representatives sooner or later would pay equally for these war crimes.’

BNM chairman stated, “The atrocities of Pakistan, after the phase of genocide, torture and abduction, has turned a new ugly shape, now they are involved in raping the Baloch women.”

“The silence of civilised world on such appalling incident is a barren assault on humanity. Pakistan cannot suppress Baloch nation by stooping to such disgusting tactics, and one day it would face an ignominious defeat before the Baloch movement.

“In company with, so-called media and journalists, China is also an ally of Pakistan in Baloch genocide. People living around CPEC project route are forced to migrate to other places due to the exploitative projects of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC),” the chairman of BNM said.

He regretted if journalists had honestly played their role, the situation would have never reached at this point.

Chairman Khalil Baloch told international campaign groups and international that their silence was emboldening Pakistan to intensify its barbarities, therefore, it is high time that Pakistan is brought to justice.
