At least six militants, affiliated with Islamic State-Khorasan (IS-K), have been killed in US drone strikes in eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan.

The militants were killed on Friday in the vicinity of Deh Bala district, reported Khaama Press, citing 201st Silab Corps of the Afghan Military, as saying.

The US forces carried out airstrikes on IS hideouts using unmanned aerial vehicles.
According to the report, at least two hideouts of the terror group were also destroyed during the airstrikes.

This comes in tandem with various ongoing counter-terrorism operations in certain provinces as the militant and terrorist groups are attempting to expand their insurgency activities.

The US military based in Afghanistan also conduct regular airstrikes against the IS, Taliban, and other militant and terrorist groups.

The airstrikes are conducted using unmanned aerial vehicles to clamp down the militants, according to the reports.
