Pakistani military convoys, vehicles and posts came under seven armed attacks and explosions across Balochistan on Thursday, with preliminary reports indicating that more than a dozen personnel were killed, several others injured and multiple military vehicles damaged.

A Pakistani military convoy was targeted at Ziarat Cross, where initial reports claimed that two vehicles, including a military truck, were destroyed and around 15 personnel killed.

Local sources said the attackers also seized weapons from the personnel following the attack. However, the casualty figure had not been officially confirmed.

Meanwhile, a Pakistani military convoy was targeted with a vehicle-borne improvised explosive (VBIED) device in the Hajika area of Surab.

Preliminary reports indicated that two vehicles were hit, with one destroyed and another partially damaged. Around 10 personnel were reportedly killed or injured, although the number of fatalities and injuries could not immediately be established.

Internet services have remained suspended in Surab since Wednesday night, while similar network disruptions have also been reported in Khuzdar and Kalat.

Another major attack targeted a Pakistani military convoy comprising approximately 18 vehicles along the CPEC route in Washuk. Initial reports indicated significant casualties, but no figures were immediately available.

The security detail of the Harnai deputy commissioner also came under attack near Ziarat Cross. Reports said two people, including a police officer, were injured in the incident.

In the Goru area of Mastung, armed fighters ambushed a Pakistani military convoy travelling along the Quetta-Karachi highway. The number of casualties and extent of material losses remained unclear.

Vehicles associated with the Saindak project were separately targeted in the Keshingi area of Noshki. No details were immediately available regarding the nature of the attack or any resulting casualties or damage.

A Pakistani military post between Tump and Malant in Kech district also came under attack, with local sources reporting at least five explosions in the area.

The nature of the explosions and any casualties or damage to the post could not immediately be confirmed.

Pakistani forces, government installations and infrastructure associated with CPEC and mineral projects have repeatedly been targeted by Baloch pro-independence armed groups across Balochistan.

No group had claimed responsibility for Thursday’s attacks, while Pakistani authorities had not issued an official statement regarding the reported casualties or damage at the time of publication.
