At least nine people, including a 15-year-old tailor, two labourers and a university student, have been reported missing after being detained by Pakistani forces in separate incidents in Balochistan’s Quetta, Chagai and Panjgur districts, local sources and family members said.

Two other men from Kech district were released on June 17 after remaining missing for more than seven months, their families said.

Six of the latest cases were reported from Panjgur district.

Local sources said Pakistani forces forcibly disappeared Saadullah, son of Ghulam Jan, and Ziyab, son of Kohda Karim Jan, from a shop in Kohda Hakim Bazaar in Parom on June 15.

Zahid, son of Khuda Dost, a university student from Parom, was detained from the premises of the university in Panjgur city on June 10, they added. No information about the whereabouts of the six men has since emerged.

Meanwhile, two separate cases were reported from Quetta.

Twenty-one-year-old Adil Baloch, son of Muhammad Sharif, was detained by Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) personnel from the Sariab area at around 1 a.m. on June 6, according to his family. Adil, a labourer, has remained missing since.

Fifteen-year-old Sher Zaman Baloch was taken from his tailoring workshop in the Killi Almas area of Airport Road at around 6:30 p.m. on June 17.

His family said Pakistani forces detained him from the workshop, adding that they had received no information about his whereabouts since.

Separately, in Dalbandin, Chagai district, 18-year-old Obaid Baloch, son of Abdul Zahir Notezai, was taken into custody at around 6:30 p.m. on June 14. Obaid, who also worked as a labourer, remains missing.
