A military operation was reportedly carried out by Pakistani military forces in the Gomazi area of Tump, Kech, on Thursday, prompting allegations of property damage, looting and mistreatment of civilians from local residents and Baloch political organisations.

According to local sources, military personnel entered the area and conducted a search operation across several neighbourhoods. Residents alleged that a number of homes were damaged or demolished during the operation, while valuables, including cash, gold and household belongings, were taken from some properties.

No official statement from the Pakistani military regarding the operation or the allegations had been issued at the time of publication.

In a statement released following the operation, the Baloch Women Forum condemned the reported actions and alleged that dozens of civilian homes were burned during the operation. The organisation further claimed that women, children and elderly residents were subjected to physical abuse and intimidation by military personnel.

The group described the reported incidents as serious human rights violations and called for an immediate end to operations that could place civilians at risk. It also demanded an independent and transparent investigation into the allegations and urged authorities to hold accountable anyone found responsible for unlawful conduct.

The BWF additionally appealed to human rights organisations, civil society groups and international bodies to closely monitor the situation in Kech and advocate for the protection of civilians.

The operation also drew criticism from the Baloch Students Organization-Azad. In a statement, the organisation’s spokesperson, Sholan Baloch, described the reported demolition and burning of homes as part of a broader pattern of military operations that, according to the organisation, have affected civilian communities across various parts of Balochistan over many years.

The statement alleged that similar incidents had previously occurred in areas including Noshki, Awaran, Khuzdar, Dasht, Jiwani, Bolan and Panjgur. According to BSO-Azad, the reported actions in Gomazi involved house searches, assaults on residents, the seizure of valuables and the destruction of residential properties.

The organisation argued that such measures were intended to place pressure on families and communities in areas where support for the Baloch national movement is perceived by the state. It characterised the reported actions as a form of collective punishment and called on international organisations to investigate alleged human rights violations in Balochistan.

Pakistani authorities have not commented on the specific claims.

Military operations in various parts of Balochistan have frequently been accompanied by competing accounts from state authorities, local residents and political organisations. Human rights groups have repeatedly called for independent investigations into allegations of abuses during such operations, while state institutions maintain that security measures are aimed at countering armed insurgent activity.
