Eleven employees of a private construction company who were abducted by armed men during an attack on a World Bank-funded project in Balochistan’s Khuzdar district last month have been released, police said on Monday.
The men were taken on Feb. 22 when armed assailants riding motorcycles stormed the camp of a company working on a water channel project in the Moola area of Khuzdar district, according to police.
During the attack, the gunmen forced 11 men into a double-cabin vehicle and took them to an unknown location, police said.
Police identified the abductees as project manager Gul Sher, Ghulam Sarwar, Abdul Malik Bugti, Maulana Bakhsh, Muhammad Irfan, Ikhtiar and others, adding that six of the abductees were from Sindh, while the others were local residents.
