The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) said on Tuesday that six people were killed, four wounded and one detained in attacks carried out by its fighters in Balochistan’s Kech and Washuk districts.

BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch said in a statement that on March 16, BLF fighters launched a coordinated assault on a Pakistani army camp in the Malant area of Tump in Kech district.

He said the camp was surrounded from multiple directions before fighters carried out a close-range attack using “B-10 rockets, snipers, RPGs and grenade launchers,” adding that at least three army personnel were killed and four others critically injured.

He said surveillance cameras installed at the camp were also destroyed and key installations were damaged, while helicopters later arrived to evacuate casualties.

In a separate operation, he said that at around 7:00 a.m. on March 17, BLF fighters targeted what he described as operatives of a state-backed “death squad” in the Garari area of Washuk, “acting on verified intelligence.”

He said the group had set up a temporary checkpoint on the CPEC highway and was allegedly involved in harassing drivers and collecting extortion when BLF fighters surrounded them and opened fire.

“As a result of this operation, three death squad operatives were killed, while one was captured and is currently in the organization’s custody,” he said.

He identified one of the killed men as Kahoor alias Manan, son of Mureed, a resident of Mashkay, while the identities of the other two were not confirmed.

The detained individual was identified as Chakar, son of Sher Muhammad, a resident of Naag, and is being interrogated, he added.

The spokesperson alleged that the group was operating under the patronage of a local figure identified as Ali Haider Muhammad Hasni and was involved in “anti-Baloch activities at the behest of the state.”

He said the BLF accepts responsibility for both operations and warned that those acting against the Baloch movement would be “brought to their end.”

Pakistani authorities had not issued a response at the time of publication.
