The head of the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF), Dr Allah Nazar Baloch, has warned China, Western countries and Middle Eastern states against investing in Balochistan, saying the recent attack in Nokkundi should be seen as a “clear national message” that foreign projects operating under Pakistan’s “forced occupation” will not be accepted.
In a detailed statement, Dr Nazar said China had made a “serious strategic mistake” by partnering with Pakistan in what he described as “exploitative projects” on Baloch land, the coastal belt and natural resources.
He said the Baloch nation “has collectively decided that no project in Balochistan can be acceptable or sustainable before national independence”, regardless of which state undertakes it. Attempts to impose development through force, he added, have historically produced long-term instability rather than progress.
Dr Nazar accused Pakistan of committing “systematic genocide and war crimes” in Balochistan over the past two decades, including enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, collective punishment and mass displacement.
“China is making itself part of policies and actions that contradict the principles of justice, dignity and the right to self-determination, the same principles for which the Chinese people themselves struggled in their own history,” he said, adding that China’s approach to Balochistan “has become a manifestation of moral bankruptcy.”
“We have made it clear that the Baloch nation does not consider China a direct enemy,” he said. “However, unconditional cooperation with Pakistan necessarily connects China to the actions and consequences Pakistan has perpetrated in Balochistan.”
Referring to the recent Nokkundi attack, in which BLF said fighters from its Saddo Operational Battalion stormed the Pakistani military’s brigade headquarters and targeted a compound housing foreign staff linked to the Reko Diq and Saindak mining projects, Dr Nazar said the operation should not be viewed “merely as an attack on Pakistan”.
“It was a Baloch national reaction against Pakistan’s external partners,” he said, adding that any foreign investment operating under Pakistan’s authority “is equivalent to an attack on the very existence of the Baloch nation”.
“All projects under occupying Pakistan are equivalent to an attack on the Baloch nation,” he said, describing resistance to such projects as “natural and inevitable”.
Dr Allah Nazar urged Chinese leadership to “seriously reconsider” its policies towards Pakistan and prioritize the political, national and economic demands of the Baloch people, rather than “turning a blind eye”.
He extended the same warning to Western and Middle Eastern states, saying Europe, the United States and Gulf countries should not invest in Balochistan under Pakistan’s control.
Dr Nazar called on the international community to “recognize the legitimate struggle of the Baloch people for their freedom and play a responsible role in its support”.
“A future independent Balochistan will be an open, responsible and dignified partner for all nations that respect the principles of freedom, justice and human dignity,” he said.
