An official of the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) who was abducted in Balochistan’s Panjgur district was found shot dead on Sunday, local sources said.
The body of the officer, identified by relatives as Khalil Ahmed, was discovered in an abandoned area near Chakul, a day after he was reportedly kidnapped at gunpoint from the Tasp area. Family members said the body bore signs of torture and gunshot wounds.
Later, the officer’s family staged a sit-in outside the district police officer’s office, accusing police of failing to act despite being notified of the abduction.
The protest ended after negotiations with police and district administration officials.
Local sources claimed the officer had been killed after being forcibly disappeared by Pakistani intelligence agencies; however, the allegation could not be independently verified.
