Protests were held in Balochistan’s Khuzdar and Hub districts on Saturday, as families and rights activists demanded the recovery of missing persons and an end to enforced disappearances across the region.

In Khuzdar, demonstrators marked three years since the enforced disappearance of Salman Baloch. Participants, including families of the disappeared and local residents, carried banners and photographs calling for justice and the immediate release of all victims of enforced disappearances.

According to Salman Baloch’s family, three years have passed with no information about his whereabouts or condition. His sister said, “Today marks three years since the disappearance of my brother, Salman Baloch. We organized this rally to demand justice, truth, and the return of our loved one. For three years, we have been waiting endlessly.”

An online campaign has also been launched on social media, where human rights activists and citizens are expressing solidarity with the family.

In a separate protest in Hub Chowki, the family of a missing youth, Maroof Koh Baloch, blocked the Karachi–Quetta highway at Hub Bhawani, demanding his release. The sit-in caused a suspension of traffic and long queues of vehicles along the highway.

A heavy contingent of police, led by senior officers from Hub, was deployed to the site. Authorities said efforts were under way to negotiate with the protesters, who vowed to continue their demonstration until Maroof Koh Baloch’s whereabouts are disclosed.
